Natterjack Toad

The Natterjack toad looks a bit more olive-green than a common toad, and has a yellow stripe running down its back. They live in “coastal dune systems, upper saltmarsh and lowland heath.”

This toad has seen a decline in population due to habitat loss and fragmentation. The North Wales population of natterjack toads completely died off, but thanks to the efforts of the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, reintroduction of this amphibian has been successful.
